Eczema

Eczema is a form of atopic dermatitis that manifests itself in the form of dry, rough skin that can or cannot be covered in a red and intensely itchy rash. According to renowned pediatrician Dr. Sears, eczema affects approximately 10 percent of infants and children. "The cause is mainly genetic," says Dr. Sears. "It is the result of an inborn tendency toward dry skin and allergies." The key to successful treatment is finding a way to moisturize and treat the allergies simultaneously.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic treatment may be effective in treating eczema. The theory is that eczema is a manifestation of an attack on the immune system, which is linked to the central nervous system. Chiropractic treatments correct subluxations (or misalignment) in the spine that adversely affect these systems' abilities to function normally. In other words, a subluxation blocks optimal blood flow to the skin, making it more vulnerable to attack, as seen in the form of eczema.

The above paragraphs are from the livestrong.com site.  While there may be a genetic component to Eczema,  very few thing are strictly a genetic problem.  most conditions require an environmental stimulus to trigger the genetic response.   Eczema, psoriasis  and other skin conditions have a neurological component as well.  when the nerves to an area are impaired; circulation, sensation and sub-dermal muscles can be affected.  This can impact the severity of the skin conditions and their response to other interventions.   one text suggest the mid-cervical region (C3), mid thoracic region (T4,T6 &T9) and the mid lumbar region (L4) are the culprit areas that need to be checked and adjusted for Eczema outbreaks.

CHIROPRACTIC CARE CAN HELP WITH THESE CONDITIONS. How much we can help varies from patient to patient.
